PDA Phone - Why Are They The Next Trend In The Mobile Computers World?

by Ron Heller

Only a few years ago, the PDA concept was introduced for the first time. The first Palm Pilot's his the market and millions of people were hoped right away. The combination of a personal electronic organizes along with a powerful was a great solution for many people who were looking to get more done without sitting down with their lap-top or desk-top computers.

Later on, the wireless PDA's were introduced, causing even more stir, and the PDA's became even more sophisticated, allowing their users to surf the web wirelessly, download and send e-mail's and the like.

But then - the wind shifted.

It had became apparent the PDA's could not replace the notebook computers, that were getting thinner, lighter and cheaper, while offering the users the same abilities of a regular PC, but in a fashion. A PDA, as good as it can be, can't replace a PC.
So at this time, the PDA industry was standing at a crossroad. It had to make the right choice in order to survive.
And what we got as an answer to he notebook was the PDA, also known as the smart . This was a smart move, as it addressed people's needs. Let's take a look at a few reasons to own and use a smart :

1.You already use a cell , and you probably own a PDA (or intent to buy one). So why not combine the two? You get two in one - more value for your dollars.
2.You'll probably save hundreds of dollar in future years, when you will want to upgrade your . You will only need to upgrade one device instead of two (PDA and a cell separately)
3.Save time - Owning two tools that have so many over lapping function is time consuming. For example, It's much easier to maintain just one email account and addresses instead of one of them at your cell and one at your PDA.
4.Many cell phones are limited in their memory capacity and their overall ability to handle various tasks. The PDA's however, were created for these missions. The therefore is a with a huge capacity for handling almost anything. This just makes your life a lot easier.
5.Integration - The biggest reason for merging these two vital tools is to enjoy the benefits of integration. You'll be able to organize your calendar, talk to your clients, download emails, surf the web, and listen to an mp3 music file all at the same place without needing to switch appliances.

The is a very logical choice for everyone who is trying to get more out of his day and save time and money. It really makes no sense to be carrying both a PDA and a cell around when you can have both in one.

PDA GPS Built In - Helps You Find Your Way No Matter Where You Are

by Ron Heller

One of the most useful and exciting features of the newer PDA's, is their ability to serve as real time maps. A PDA GPS built in system serves two purposes - it can help you keep track of your busy schedule as every PDA does, and, it can help you find your way to just about anywhere. You will no more get lost trying to find your way to a new client, to see your son's soccer game, or in a new city. Some of the PDA\s on the market don't have a GPS Built In system, so they require a special receiver that has to be bought separately and attached to the PDA.

The PDA's we'll discuss are PDA GPS Built In devices. You get them with the GPS system already integrated into the machine itself - the receiver, the maps, the antenna. Nothing needs to be added.

So here are the selected few 's that have a BuitIn global positioning navigation system:

1.Pharos Traveler GPS 525 - Includes maps and all your personal data. $388-$529
2. Crossing WayPoint 200 - A Good PDA and a great GPS. Too Expensive - $599.
3.Mio 168RS (GPS/PDA combo) - practical and cheaper than others. -$209
4.Garmin iQue M5 - Excellent navigation makes this one of the best PDA/GPS combos. It's expensive - $599
5.Asus MyPal A636 - This is a PDA with a built-in GPS receiver that puts maps and directions on an equal footing with appointments and e-mail. While it delivers accurate directions and long battery life, it's a bit sluggish - not priced yet.

No matter what you use your global positioning navigation system for, you will find that the improvement over traditional paper maps is startling. Instead of trying to drive with the map folded on the steering wheel, the navigation system on your PDA can give you step by step and turn by turn directions to guide you right to your destination. No more stopping at every gas station for directions. Your satellite connected PDA will give you great instructions and keep you from getting lost.

If you are traveling on a regular bases, and often to unknown destination, you'll probably want to consider getting a PDA/GPS combo device. The cost will be considrably less than purchasing these two products separately. Why not stop by your local store or internet retailer and take advantage of this great technological breakthrough?

The 240×240 Dilema — Treo 700, etc

by Steve Bralovich

Today, many phones have 240x240 resolution because Windows 5.0
doesn't support 320x320 resolution and the next square screen resolution supported is 480x480.

However, when it comes to prices of touch screens, the screens with 480x480 are too expensive.
So manufacturers, who wanted to use square resolution in order to accommodate
a QWERTY keyboard, were forced into 240x240.

Examples of devices sporting the square screens are the HP HW6515, HW6715, Palm 700w,
and Fujitsu Siemens Pocket LOOX T830 phones. Look for some others later in 2006.

When regular applications and games are run, the square screens cut off the information
below the 240 pixel mark. Sometimes, they do scroll but often that's not the case which means
that about 25 percent of the display is missing.

The only real solution to this problem is to have that is designed to accommodate the
240x240 resolution.

Developers have begun to rework existing games and applications to work on square screen devices
but a convenient list of what's currently available is a little difficult to come by.

A convenient list of 240x240 applications and games has been assembled at:

http://240x240.com

Dozens of programs are listed and it is maintained and updated regularly as new
becomes available.

Essential Tips On Getting Palm Pilots For Cheap

by Ron Hel-Or

Getting a real PDA is not the easiest task in the world. There are quite a few pitfalls that await the ones who try. But it is still worth the effort. There are two reasons why PDA's are now easier to get than ever:

1. This is because the fact that over 30 million PDA's were sold until the end of 2004, and, many of these PDA's are now being sold, or have been refurnished or rectified. This represents an opportunity for us to get a Palm One or ant other PDA, for dirt , if you're will to go for a rectified device instead of a new one.

2. The dazzling speed in which new PDA's are released into the market makes today's new models out of date tomorrow. This is of course hogwash. Last year's Palm is still a great device. So if you're not keen on getting the newest model, you'll be finding many of yesterday's models at great discounts.

OK, so now we know that the opportunity exits. So what do we have to do in order to cease it?

Well, a good idea would be to define which PDA model, or models you are after, and what kind of PDA you want to get - a new one, a used one or a rectified one?

Some people would never touch a device that is not entirely new. If you're one of them, your option is the new one only. After you determine the range of models you consider, take a look online at places like Amazon, Palm One Store and the like. If you included some of the older model's in your range of options, you are very likely to get a great price for a new PDA.

If you're willing to go for a rectified or a used PDA, you are much more likely to find devices at bottom-low prices. Look at rectified PDA's first at the manufacturer's website. In many cases, they will offer some devices they can't sell as new ones for a reduced price. Getting rectified PDA directly from the manufacturer or a certified agent will get you a manufacturer's warranty which is very important as you're not buying a new device.

If the rectified PDA's prices don't suit you, you can look for a used Palm at ebay.com. Just be aware of the fact that you're taking a risk buying a used PDA from a private party. In any case, be sure you are clear on the warranty they give you, if any.

PDA Memory Cards - 7 Tips On Using Them To Improve Your Bridge Media Experience

by Ron Heller

PDA are a very popular means of immediately enlarging the memory capacity of a PDA. Most of the PDA that are in use today are of the SD memory card format, and their capacity ranges form 16MB to 1GB. The 2,4 and 8 GB cards are now in development, and are expected to penetrate the market during 2007 and 2008. Quite impressive for a memory card the size of a post stamp. The use of an SD memory card is great for installing additional on your PDA, or storing more data on it. But it also enables your PDA to participate in what's called "The Bridge Media" concept that the SD memory card creators had the vision for.

The meaning of Bridge Media is that the SD cards can offer a way to connect many sorts of appliances trough one small memory card, without the need to use any interpretation.

An example for sd card use:

You shoot a video clip with your digital camera. You will store the video clip on your SD card which is supported by the digital camera. After that, you can take the memory card out and plug it into your PDA. The video clip is immediately shown on your PDA, without the use of any other device. You didn't need your PC's intervention in doing this - both your digital camera and your PDA know how to read and write data to and from an SD card.

The nest thing you can do is, say, change the video clip is some way sing your PDA (like adding titles). You can than save the new video clip to the memory card and take the SD card to a video camera. The video camera can now read the new video clip and display it on it's screen or on your television.

Here's another example:

You have an important call on your cell . Your cell supports SD so it's able to record the call. You can later save the call audio file on to your PDA memory for future use.

As you can see the possibilities are endless, and memory is something you can easily move from one appliance to the other thanks to the flexibility of PDA

Another thing to remember is that the DS have very fast read/write speed of X133. This is possible due to the fact that no physical component are active in the read or write process, and the memory is completely electronic.
